Issue

Dell E70 series laptops have overheating/freezing issues.

Affects:

• E7270
• E7250

Cause

Potential causes include:

• Apple software
• Dell Backup & Recovery Software
• BIOS Intel Power Boost on

Note: Dell is apparently aware and working on a BIOS upgrade

Solutions

Uninstall Apple software

Uninstall Dell Backup & Recovery software

Turn off BIOS Intel Power Boost:

• Restart Computer
• As soon as Dell logo appears, press F2
• Scroll down in BIOS and choose Performance > Intel Power Boost
• Untick Intel Power Boost
• Apply and Save
